The challenge

Kara Booms was entering the gifting and events business as a new player. The founders needed a go-to-market and entry strategy to establish the business.

What we did

  • Audit and situation analysis of the business
  • An objectives-based strategy that let them validate and own a market niche
  • Corporate image and business profile
  • Budgeting and analytics across all their business and service channels

Results

From a two-woman partnership, Kara Booms has grown into a fully fledged SME serving individuals, other SMEs and large corporates with their gifting, experience and entertainment needs.

The challenge

Irish expense management start-up Xpensi needed a route to market and entry strategy for the African continent.

What we did

We developed the brand and marketing strategy which supported their pivot from being a purely expense management firm to an integrated invoicing platform, mitigating the global slowdown in business travel and the Covid-19 mobility restrictions at that time.

The challenge

Access Communications Ltd was moving from a CDMA network to GSM services and relaunching under a new brand name, Zero2. It needed strategic marketing support and consultancy on marketing operations to compete in a market dominated by TNM and Airtel Malawi.

What we did

  • A full plan for the product mix and promotional approach
  • A trade marketing strategy to find a niche in a highly competitive market
  • A brand refresh and the launch plan to position and introduce Zero2 as a new entrant

Results

After the launch in May 2024, Zero2 more than doubled its subscriber base within the first quarter, setting it up for a strong growth trajectory in a saturated market. Its network coverage has since grown from the Southern Region into the Central and Northern Regions.

The challenge

Evergreen Farms works across the agricultural value chain, from production (crops, livestock and aquaculture) to value addition (processing, packaging and distribution). With funding from the Graça Machel Trust and the COMESA Women Business Council, it wanted to improve its branding and market position, profile its founder, grow market awareness and secure international markets.

What we did

  • A marketing and business audit to shape new, broader marketing objectives
  • Strategic options for growth
  • A bespoke operational model to support the expansion plans

Results

Evergreen Farms’ digital profile was updated and expanded, and its founder earned media coverage on TV, radio and in print. Supported by the new operational model, the business now exports to Tanzania and Zambia.
